Flagger Position

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Pass background and drug screening upon hire.
  • Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions
  • Lift, carry and place traffic cones to ensure the safety of the work zone. Lifting may be up to 50 lbs.
  • Lift, carry, place and assemble traffic control signs in the proper order to manage work zone traffic.
  • Follow company and state guidelines for effective, safe well managed work zones.
  • Drive Company trucks as needed.
  • Keep equipment in trucks well organized and in working order.
  • Develop superior knowledge of Work Zone Setup and Design and Professional Flagging responsibilities.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers. (This includes on-time arrival and well managed work zones)
  • Other duties not listed may apply

Conditions Of Work

  • Work is generally alongside active Roads, Highways and Freeways.
  • Work can also be on bridges, and overpasses.
  • The majority of work is outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Work is also performed under conditions that may expose staff to dust, smoke, electricity, railroad traffic, loud noise and uneven footing and other associated worksite conditions
  • During the course of you duties you may be subject to verbal abuse of threats of violence from motorists. TES staff are expected to act in a professional manner and not permit themselves to be provoked.
  • You will be required to wear additional PPE such as a Hard Hat and safety glasses on all worksites.

Traffic Control Manager

  • Read and understand MUTCD and MD, VDOT, and DDOT Traffic Typical Applications Sheets along with Traffic Control Plans.
  • Have valid driver’s license
  • Obtain and maintain required  certification ( Flagger, Traffic Manager) within six months of employment
  • Operates company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job site
  • Drive MOT (Management of Traffic) vehicle to and from project and on work site
  • Place temporary construction signs in work area.
  • Place arrow board or variable message board in work area.
  • Place traffic cones or channelizers (drums) and other traffic safety devices in work area.
  • Check work zone throughout shift to be sure items are still in their proper location.
  • Pick up traffic control items at beginning and end of shift and load unto truck.
  • Drive TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator) vehicle to and from project and on work site to protect workers and work zone.
  • Must be able to perform all types of set ups. (From simple alley closures to large highway setups).
  • Job locations include all surrounding Maryland locations, office is in Burtonsville. Some traveling may be required to close states such as Virginia, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

  • Shop work which may include general maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Perform other work related duties as assigned.
